Ah bugger! Sorry about that, will make sure a new version is uploaded on monday.

the only snag i can see is the thumbnails... how does umbraco reference those? because it would be cool to move the thumbnail to a folder called thumbs... then delete the original thumb and the original media folder... that way you could have the media items and then all the thumbs in a special thumbs folder.

Umbraco references thumbnails by adding _thumb to the file name.

So to make the sample work 100% in the backend you would have the same moving and renaming with the _thumb files.

Ofcourse when you are at it, you can move your thumb files anywhere you want to, as thumbnail references are not stored anywhere, they just follow a naming convention.

Again, I better add, that this is just as sample of what you can do with media events to move files around as you want to, and reference media data, when items are saved in the backend.

    So use with caution :)

I like this idea of a friendly media path, but what are the tradeoffs? I've implemented this with slight modifications to also move the thumbnail and delete the old directory.

But now I can't delete a media item from the Umbraco dashboard. I get an Error at /umbraco/webservices/legacyajaxcalls.asmx/delete...

    Any thoughts?

What Visual Studio Add-In/Plugin are you using for the sidebar appearing on the right of the Visual Studio with BLACK background? And from where can I download it?

Thanks for the nice video! How about a video describing how to make another 'upload' sort of data type that would reflect the custom upload location.

Or better: a custom upload location data type plug-in : )
